Oresin Acrylic Sealer is the most appropriate sealer for Oresin OR001 surfaces. The Oresin Acrylic Sealer is a pure acrylic coating. We recommend applying the Oresin Acrylic Sealer onto Oresin OR001 surface with a dense foam roller rather than low density foam and traditional paint rollers.

The Oresin Thixotrope is added to the Oresin OR001 mix to thicken the material to a ‘gel-coat’ consistency. This is useful when brushing or spraying materials onto moulds with vertical faces as it prevents the material from slumping.

No. The products are sold as a composite and designed specifically to work together. Oresin do not test the liquids with other powders.

Oresin OR001 cured surfaces can be sanded using a variety of sandpaper grades to achieve a range of different surface appearances and textures. Most users will start with a coarse sandpaper and then move onto a fine sandpaper grade for finer finishing. The sanding process can be done by hand or with a power sander.

For casting Oresin OR001, every 1,000ml of mould volume will require 1,750g of complete mixed Oresin OR001 (1,750g Oresin OR001 = 1000ml).

We recommend demoulding OR001 after 2 hours, we then suggest you leave your creation to fully cure for 24 hours before sanding or sealing.

Oresin OR001 is an Acrylic Modified Gypsum Composite compared to Oresin OR005 which is an Acrylic Modified Cementitious Composite. Oresin OR001 contains gypsum and is designed to replicate very fine surface detail and Oresin OR005 contains decorative aggregates and is designed to replicate concrete and stone surfaces.

All Oresin products including Oresin OR001 are classed as porous and would need to be sealed with a top coat sealer to achieve a waterproof surface.

OR001 is perfect for pouring into a mould and for internal use.

It is recommended when casting something long and flat, like a table top, to use our Quadaxial Matting 

If casting something more intricate with curves then our Chopped Strands are recommended 

We highly recommend using our High Shear Mixing Blade which has been specifically designed for Or001 to avoid bubbles in the mix 

If you’re using a Or001 made of anything other than silicone, we advise you to use our Bonda Wax Release Agent 

OR001 cure with a colour of off white/cream. We have a range of pigments available. 

Yes, OR001 is classified as GRC (Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete). Due to its unique polymer content, versatility, being non-combustible and having much faster curing times than other GRC’s, it is classed as a premium GRC product.

This all depends on dimensions, thickness, etc. As a guide for you to be able to calculate how much you need, 1 ratio of liquid and 2.5 ratio of powder will produce a finished product of 3.5.
